So Starya is the namesake of my original SN and my LJ name. She was one of my first characters who withstood the test of time. I played her on and off for about four years. She was created for a Hyrule based group that took place after the Ocarina of Time game. In our little group she was a half sister to our Hero of Time, and became the Shadow Sage. She recently showed up as an NPC in my school campaign for kicks.
This drabble takes place some time after her parents died but before the end of the major war. Leyleia was one of Sarah's characters and Starya's half sister through her mother. And yes, we broke up the Sheikah into three clans and made awesome backstories for them. We liked the Sheikah race. Yay nostaglia.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starya would never fit in here.
The lithe Sheikah moved through the halls heading towards the Clan head’s chambers. Always known for her graceful and trained movements among her friends, the elegant Sheikah who passed her made her feel like a drunk Goron. Her movements seemed clumsy, slow, and disjointed as she brushed past the others, who seemed to drift by like ghosts. Every so often one or two would pass their red gaze over her, coldly. She wanted to duck her head and run, but the Shadow Sage was above that. Starya wasn’t, but the Shadow Sage was.
She finally reached the door of her destination and walked inside without a knock. Leyleia looked up and smiled at her. Starya smiled back, though the sight of her half sister only made the situation worse. Almost all of the Owl clan was ethereally beautiful; with long hair, pale skin, and builds that seemed too fragile to touch. Starya, half Wolf clan through her father, was anything but. She was awkward, tall, lanky, and apparently moved like an ox. Leyleia’s smile faded. Starya realized her expression must have been very telling and forced another smile. She moved to take a seat across from her half-sister, forcing herself to relax. Despite all the misgivings she felt she had a part to play here. Starya may have let her fears affect her, but the Shadow Sage was above that. Starya wasn’t, but the Shadow Sage was.
